Where you board and where you get off
Most services depart from operator offices in or near Hanoi’s Old Quarter, and many collect passengers from Old Quarter hotels by minibus first — each listing above states its pickup arrangement. In Sapa, buses drop off in the town centre near the lake and church or at the operator’s office, a short walk or taxi from most hotels.
Day bus or night bus?
Both run daily on this route. A day bus turns the trip into a scenic ride and gets you to Sapa in the afternoon with time to check in and eat. A night bus saves a hotel night, but arrives very early — around 4–5 am — so it works best when your hotel allows early check-in or you plan an early trek.
