Frequently asked questions
How long does the Halong to Hanoi limousine van take?
The drive takes about 2.5 hours on the new expressway, plus roughly 30-45 minutes for hotel pick-ups in Halong. Door to door, most guests reach the Hanoi city centre about 3 hours after being collected. If you add the airport drop-off, allow around 3-3.5 hours in total.
What time does the limousine van depart from Halong?
There are daily departures at 09:00, 11:00, 12:00, 13:30, 15:30, 17:00 and 18:30. Your own pick-up time depends on where you are staying and is confirmed at least 6 hours before departure by email or WhatsApp.
Where do you pick me up in Halong?
We collect guests from hotels in Halong city (Bai Chay and Hon Gai areas), from Tuan Chau Island, and from Tuan Chau harbour or Hon Gai port for those coming off a cruise. If you have no preference, the default meeting point is the lobby of the Novotel Halong.
I am finishing a Halong Bay cruise. Can you meet me at the port?
Yes. Tuan Chau harbour and Hon Gai port are both standard pick-up points, so simply tell us your cruise name and disembarkation time when you book and we will match you to the most suitable departure.
What if my hotel is outside the Halong city centre?
Let us know the exact address before you book. Hotels a little outside the usual pick-up area can often still be served, otherwise we will suggest the nearest convenient meeting point.
Where does the van drop me off in Hanoi?
We drop off at any hotel in the Hanoi city centre. Because this is a shared service the van drops passengers one after another, so the order depends on the addresses of everyone on board that day.
Can you take me straight to Hanoi (Noi Bai) airport?
Yes. Airport drop-off is available: once the limousine van reaches Hanoi you change into a private car that continues to Noi Bai airport. Please enter your flight details at the check-out page so we can plan the timing for you.
How much time should I allow before my flight?
We suggest arriving at Noi Bai at least 3 hours before an international flight and 2 hours before a domestic one. Counting the transfer itself, that usually means choosing a departure from Halong about 6-7 hours before take-off.
Is the pick-up time exact?
As a shared van, the actual pick-up can be up to 30 minutes earlier or later than the scheduled time, depending on your address and the other passengers. The final time is always confirmed at least 6 hours in advance.
What happens if I am running late for the pick-up?
Please contact us on WhatsApp as soon as you can. The driver can wait only a few minutes because other guests are already on board, and a missed pick-up is treated as a no-show under the cancellation policy.
How much luggage can I bring?
Each passenger may bring 1 standard suitcase of up to 70x50x30 cm plus 1 small handbag. If you are travelling with oversized or additional bags, tell us beforehand so we can reserve enough space.
What is a VIP seat?
The limousine has 9 seats: 2 at the front, 4 in the middle and 3 at the back. The 4 middle seats are the VIP seats, which are wider, recline further and give the smoothest ride.
Can I choose my seat?
Seat preferences can be requested when you book and we do our best to honour them, although the final arrangement depends on availability and on the pick-up order of the other passengers.
Is this a good option if I get car sick?
Yes. The route follows the new expressway, which is straight and smooth, and the reclining VIP seats in the middle row are the most comfortable choice for anyone prone to motion sickness.
Do children need a ticket?
Children aged 0-4 travel free of charge when they share a seat with a parent. A child who needs their own seat pays the standard ticket price.
Is there a rest stop on the way?
Yes. After roughly 1 hour of driving the van pauses for about 10 minutes at a rest area with toilets and a small shop before continuing to Hanoi.
What is on board the limousine van?
You will find free Wi-Fi, air conditioning and spacious reclining seats. Food and drinks are welcome on board as long as you help keep the vehicle clean.
Can I eat and drink during the ride?
Yes, snacks and drinks are allowed. We only ask that you avoid strongly smelling food out of consideration for the other passengers and keep your area tidy.
How do I know my booking is confirmed?
You will receive an availability confirmation by email within 1 business day. If nothing arrives, please check your spam folder or message us by email or WhatsApp and we will resend it.
Can I change my travel date or pick-up address after booking?
Changes are usually possible if you contact us early enough and there is space on the departure you want. Send us a message by email or WhatsApp with your booking reference and we will confirm what is available.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancelling more than 48 hours before departure costs USD 2 per ticket as a handling fee. Between 48 and 24 hours before departure 50% of the total is charged, and within 24 hours or for a no-show the full amount is charged.
Can I book the whole van privately?
Yes. If you prefer to travel with only your own group, a private car or private limousine van can be arranged instead of the shared seat. Contact us with your date, group size and luggage and we will quote you.
Can the journey take longer than planned?
Occasionally it can. Traffic, weather and road works on the expressway may affect the driving time, so leave a comfortable buffer if you have a flight, train or tour waiting in Hanoi.
Does the van run every day?
Yes, the service operates daily throughout the year on the schedule shown above. Timetables may be adjusted during major holidays such as Tet, and we will always tell you in advance if your departure changes.
How can I contact you on the day of travel?
The easiest way is WhatsApp, using the number in your confirmation email. Our team can put you in touch with the driver, update your pick-up point or answer any last-minute questions.
